My name is Yanit Asulin
I am a singer, producer, and artistic director—and for over 20 years, this has been the world I live and breathe.
Born and raised in Israel, nurtured by the warmth, joy, and musical heritage of my Moroccan roots, my life has always been shaped by an eclectic blend of sounds—from traditional Moroccan music and French chansons to the rich legacy of Jewish liturgical melodies and Israeli music.
For me, great music and great production always go hand in hand; I love being on stage just as much as I love making sure every production detail is perfect. It is this combination of performing at the forefront while planning everything behind the scenes that is the secret to the success of my events.
On stage, I am a global folklore singer performing in over ten languages—including Greek, Ladino, Arabic, Moroccan, French, Italian, and Yiddish—with a particular expertise in the rich folklore of Mediterranean nations. As an Israeli artist who performs all over the world, I see this music as inseparable from the Israeli experience; it is the ultimate soundtrack to our 'Ingathering of the Exiles.'
I am proud to be known as 'Israel’s Folklore Singer' because I believe that folklore is a bridge—an authentic joy that connects people through our shared roots, even if they have only just met in the audience.
My obsession with folklore goes beyond the stage; I am a dedicated cultural researcher with three academic degrees. This gives me a deeper understanding of the soul behind every note, connecting your audience to the stories behind the music. But don’t let the academic side fool you—it won't stop me from dancing on the tables with you at your event!

The House of Folklore: An International Performance Series
As an international artist and a researcher of world traditions, I see folklore as a living, shared language that touches us all. My passion for these cross-cultural ties naturally led me to bring our shared stories to life on stage. I believe that authentic music doesn't belong to the past; it must continue to resonate in the here and now. From this vision, a series of six folklore performances was born, where I host world traditions within my own artistic language. This encounter is fueled by the deep roots I grew up on and the diverse cultural influences that enveloped my home, making music an inseparable part of who I am.
This series represents the heart of my creative journey, featuring songs performed in over ten languages. It is a bridge between the ancient and the contemporary, where I breathe new life into classic masterpieces. Inspired by my EP, 'Folklore Addicted', each performance is a dedicated 'zoom-in' into a specific tradition.

I constantly continue to explore music, and in the past year, I have dived into fascinating collaborations that combine electronic sounds with warm, oriental vibes.
Currently, in June 2025, the song "Mawal " was released - my joint project with Neevos, which brings something completely different and exciting. And just before that, in May 2025, we surprised with an energetic rock version of the hit that broke the Israeli playlist - "Always Love Me" (Tamid ohev oti).

Folklore Addicted - EP Album
So, what exactly is 'Folklore Addicted – EP'? To me, it is far more than just a mini-album; it is a passion project born from two years of deep creative work. Conceived during the COVID-19 pandemic, a time when the world felt distant and disconnected, I felt a calling to create something that offered the exact opposite: closeness, resonance, and a return to life's essentials through my love for folklore and the stories that music tells.
Released in 2023, the EP features six songs in five different languages—Greek, Egyptian Arabic, Spanish, Italian, and Hebrew. Each track marks a milestone in my personal and musical journey. To bring these stories to life, each song is accompanied by a cinematic music video filmed on location in its country of origin. Filmed during the height of the pandemic, many of these sites were closed to the public at the time, capturing rare and breathtaking visuals that are truly one-of-a-kind.
In producing this album, I collaborated with world-renowned Israeli producers, including Kobi Israelite (London) and Gene Reznick (Toronto). If you are someone who craves 'soulful' sounds—the kind that feel like home and simply make your heart beat faster—this is a journey you must experience."
